Terms of Service
Last updated: 19 June 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website, web application, events, communities, newsletters, podcast, vendor directory and learning content (together, the "Platform") operated by The Talent Community ("TTC", "we", "us" or "our"). By creating an account, attending an event, joining a community channel or otherwise using the Platform you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
1. Who we are
The Talent Community is an inclusive professional community for people working in Talent Acquisition, Recruitment and HR. The Platform is operated from the United Kingdom. You can contact us at hello@thetalentcommunity.co.uk.
2. Eligibility & accounts
- You must be at least 16 years old and legally able to enter into a contract.
- You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your profile up to date.
- You are responsible for activity that happens under your account and for keeping your password confidential. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.
- We may verify the role and employer you list at sign up, and may decline or revoke access if we cannot verify it or if access is being used contrary to these Terms.
3. Membership & community standards
TTC is a safe, professional space. When using community channels, events, comments, posts and any other interactive feature you agree NOT to:
- Harass, bully, discriminate against or threaten any person.
- Post content that is unlawful, defamatory, hateful, sexually explicit or violent.
- Scrape, harvest or export member data, contact details or content.
- Spam members with unsolicited sales pitches, job spam or recruitment outreach.
- Misrepresent your identity, role or employer.
- Share confidential information belonging to another company, candidate or member.
We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that breach these standards, with or without notice.
4. Vendor partners
Vendors who appear in the directory, sponsor events or run campaigns through TTC are bound by a separate Vendor Partnership Agreement in addition to these Terms. Vendors agree that:
- Listings, logos and copy must be accurate and not misleading.
- Leads, contacts and member data received through TTC will be used only for the agreed campaign purpose and in line with applicable data protection law.
- Invoices issued through the Platform are payable within the terms shown on the invoice.
- TTC may remove a listing or pause a campaign where a vendor breaches these Terms, the Vendor Partnership Agreement or community standards.
5. Events
Event registrations are personal to the named attendee. We may cancel, reschedule or move events online for operational, safety or legal reasons. Where you have paid for a ticket and we cancel, we will offer a refund or a credit. Photographs and recordings may be taken at events for marketing purposes; let us know on arrival if you do not want to be featured.
6. Learning content
Courses, toolkits, templates and recordings are licensed to you for your own professional use. You may not resell, sublicense, publicly distribute or use them to train machine learning models. All intellectual property remains with TTC or the original creator.
7. User-submitted content
You retain ownership of content you post (comments, posts, questions, reviews, profile copy). You grant TTC a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to host, display, reproduce, adapt and distribute that content for the purpose of operating and promoting the Platform. You confirm you have the rights to grant that licence.
8. Intellectual property
The Platform, including the TTC name, logo, design, code, copy and branded content, is owned by TTC or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trade mark and other laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership to you.
9. Fees & subscriptions
Membership for individual professionals is currently free. Some events, courses and vendor partnerships are paid. Paid plans renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. All fees are exclusive of VAT or other taxes unless stated.
10. Third-party services
The Platform integrates with third-party tools (for example authentication, payments, analytics, video hosting). Your use of those tools is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services.
11. Disclaimers
The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability and non-infringement. Vendor listings, member opinions and learning content are for information only and are not professional advice.
12. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law. Subject to that, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or in connection with the Platform is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid to us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) £100. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits, business, goodwill or data.
13. Termination
You may stop using the Platform and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue a feature. On termination, sections that by their nature should survive (IP, liability, governing law) will continue to apply.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material we will notify members by email or via the Platform. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except that consumers may bring proceedings in their local courts where required by law.
